Testimonials from Pennsylvania Voters Support Candidates Who Are Working To Make Child Care, Elder Care and Prescription Drugs More Affordable and Pass Paid Family and Medical Leave

Harrisburg, PA –  Four weeks before Election Day, the Family Friendly Action PAC (FFA PAC) launched a storybook highlighting the role kitchen table economic issues are playing for voters in battleground states and districts. The testimonials from Pennsylvania and other battleground states demonstrate that in key elections voters are prioritizing candidates, like Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, who will work to bring down the cost of child care, elder care and prescription drugs and pass paid family and medical leave. FFA PAC has knocked on over 200,000 doors in Pennsylvania educating voters about where the candidates stand on kitchen table economic issues.

The story of Marguerite, a classroom assistant for special education from Philadelphia and one of the voters featured in the storybook, illustrates the challenges families across the commonwealth are facing:

Marguerite Ruff has been a classroom assistant for special education in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for 21 years and is a member of the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers. With setbacks from the COVID-19 pandemic and the increased cost of rent and groceries, she struggles to find a balance between affording the essentials and her rent.

[…] Marguerite is enthusiastic about her support for John Fetterman for Senate because she knows he supports solidarity among working people and policies that will lower costs of Pennsylvania families.

“High costs are reminding Pennsylvania families every day how the economy impacts their lives. The voices highlighted in this storybook represent what voters all across the commonwealth know –  that John Fetterman will work tirelessly to pass the policies that lower costs and improve lives for Pennsylvania’s working families,” said Rachele Fortier, Pennsylvania Family Friendly Action PAC State Director.”
